Why we need a W-9 or W-8 and how to complete it.

Before your first payout, Rythora is required to collect:

  • Identity verification — a quick check that you are who you say you are
  • Tax form — W-9 for US persons, W-8BEN for individuals outside the US, W-8BEN-E for non-US companies
  • Payout method — PayPal or bank account

Complete all three under Account → Distribution setup. Your taxpayer ID is stored encrypted and only the last four digits are ever displayed.

Without a tax form we must withhold at the statutory rate, so complete it early.
